CASSIEL McEVOY (she/her) is a Los Angeles-based film composer and violinist who recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Screen Scoring from New York University.

Cassiel’s compositional style is heavily influenced by her background as a classical violinist, and she enjoys placing emphasis on thematic string writing and violin textures in the bulk of her scores. Recent works have premiered at the Georgia Shorts Film Festival, the American Black Film Festival, and on MAX. As a violinist, Cassiel’s favorite gigs have been as a fiddler in “Bright Star,” in a cameo in the music video for AJR’s “The Good Part,” and in a performance on Good Morning America.

Cassiel is a triathlete and spends much of her free time working with nonprofit groups, such as the Harmony Project, which is focused on bridging the arts education gap.
