WEBSITE CARLOTTA ROMANO
CARLOTTA ROMANO (She/Her) is an Italian Composer and Vocalist based in New York City. Her life journey has taken her across diverse cultures, having spent formative years in Abu Dhabi, the United Kingdom, and Italy. These experiences inspire her distinctive sound—a fusion of Italian heritage, Middle Eastern influences, and contemporary cinematic styles.
Carlotta's compositions weave intricate textures, evocative melodies, and immersive atmospheres. Her voice, both literal and metaphorical, is central to her creative identity, blending European traditions with modern production techniques and cultural nuance. Her distinct sound brings depth and authenticity to the projects she collaborates on, amplifying not only her own perspective but also the stories of those whose voices deserve to be heard. Her diverse portfolio spans collaborations on inspiring films such as Shattered Expectations (Finalist for the 44th College Television Awards under “Non-Fiction Series”, ceremony happening in April 2025), Emmaline (Winner of the “New York Short Animation Fest"), The Roads We Travel (“Barbados Independent Film Festival”) and many more.
She recently completed her Master’s in Music Theory and Composition: Screen Scoring at New York University and was selected for the prestigious 2023/24 Society of Composers and Lyricists Mentorship Program. With a strong foundation in classical violin training in Europe and a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition and Voice from the University of Bristol, Carlotta bridges her classical expertise with modern storytelling.
