Neha is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer and educator. Her work is known for its whimsy, lushness and complexity. A conservatory trained pianist and vocalist, Neha takes inspiration from a multitude of musical personalities including jazz, folk, Indian classical, blues, pop and more to create a distinctive sound.

Neha's recent composition work includes writing additional music for the forthcoming feature 52 Blue and scoring an upcoming documentary feature. She has also composed for short films including "Places I Call my Own" and "Another Take." In 2023, she was one of five composers selected for the prestigious ASCAP/Columbia Film Scoring Workshop, studying under Music Supervisor/Director Alex Steyermark.

 

Neha's performing career includes headlining the off-Broadway production "Sleep No More,” performing works by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lang, and collaborating with contemporary composers Paula Prestini and Adam Roberts. She has performed at Lincoln Center with her band Everything Turned to Color and collaborated with multi-Grammy Award-winning songwriter Dan Zanes on the Lead Belly Revival record for Smithsonian Folkways. Neha is also a member of the Resistance Revival Chorus, a collective of over 60 women dedicated to amplifying marginalized voices through music.

A recipient of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest finalist award for her original song "The Willow Tree,” Neha released her debut album “The Dreamer” in January 2014, in which she penned 11 of the 12 songs. She released her first record “Life Imagined” with folk/jazz trio Everything Turned to Color in June 2017, and they are currently working on their sophomore record.

Neha holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and a M.M. from The New England Conservatory of Music in jazz vocal performance. A proud first-generation Indian-American woman in the arts, Neha is passionate and committed to amplifying the voices of female-identifying and POC individuals within the music world. She currently resides in Brooklyn.
