| How do I become a registered user? |
As a registered user you will have the
following privileges;
- Direct personal access to our creative
team. We will help you with your musical needs and answer any questions
you might have. We can
music supervise your entire project from start to finish.
- Unlimited downloading privileges so you can put any music you choose
directly into your project.
- Access to many useful project tools such as the ability to create and
share your own customized playlists with other registered
users.
You must be an industry professional, and be able to provide us
with information about your company. Just go to our registration
page and fill out a request for a new account. We will review your
information and get back to you.
| How do I license konsonant/ music? |
Single Track License:
Once you have found the track you wish to license, simply click on
the license button  , fill out the short form and we will
contact you shortly to go over the details of your project.
Playlist License:
After you have finalized your playlist, click on the “select
an action” drop-down menu and choose “license playlist.” Fill
out the form and click submit! We will contact you shortly to go over
the details of your project.

| Why do I need to obtain a license
to use konsonant/ music? |
Simply put, it’s the law. All music
is considered “Intellectual Property” and is owned by the
copyright holder (composer or the music publisher to which the representation
has been assigned). A license must be obtained from the owner prior
to using the music. According to the US Federal Copyright laws there
are both financial and legal penalties for using music without a license.
| How do I search for music? |
We have three ways you can search for the
perfect track:
Keyword Search - Simply type in any combination of style, genre, instrumentation,
and tempo and our search engine will pull up the tracks that fit your
criteria. Our search engine supports the following Boolean searches:
1. AND narrows a search to retrieve files that use both the search terms you specify, as in: Blues AND Clarinet
2. OR broadens a search to include results that contain either of the words you type in. OR is a good tool to use when there are several common spellings or synonyms of a word, as in:
Energetic OR Driving
3. NOT retrieves files that contain one, but not the other, of the search terms you enter, as in:
Dance NOT Atmospheric
You can also do "exact string" keyword searches. For example, you might like to search for "male" vocals as opposed to male vocals.
Filter Tracks - Select from our drop-down menus any combination of the
following filters: artist, category, beats-per-minute, length, tempo,
instrumentation.
Browse Categories - Search our library based on a specific category
and sub-category.
If you need help, our experienced staff will be happy to assist you
with your music search and selection.

| How
can I sort my search results? |
Just click on "track name," "length," or "artist" to
have your results sorted alphabetically or numerically.
Just click on the  button. Or you
can have more listening options by clicking the play button [icon]
at the bottom right corner of the screen. Here you will be able to
control volume, and have the ability to skip to various points in the
music by clicking on the time line.
| What if I need changes made to a piece
of music? |
Many of the pieces of music in our collection
have been mixed in stems. That means we have control over the different
instruments and sections of a piece of music. If you need changes made
to existing tracks, we have professional music editors and composers
that can seamlessly adapt a piece of music to fit your project. Please
call us with any questions.
| What if I need original music? |
We use state-of-the-art digital recording
facilities to write music for popular feature films, top rated TV shows,

Our playlist is similar to a playlist you
might create in iTunes. It is designed to help you organize music you
have selected for a specific project. Let's say you're looking for
music for a specific project. You can create a playlist, give it a
unique name, even add notes about the project, and add as many tracks
as you'd like to that playlist. Then you can edit it, duplicate it
(if you need to modify and keep an earlier version), share it with
other registered users and submit it to us for licensing.
| How do I create and use playlists? |
To create a playlist click on the link “add
new playlist”. Once it has been created, you can then search
for music using keywords, filters, or categories. To add to your playlist,
select your track and then select your newly created playlist from
the drop-down menu. By doing so you will be able to manage your favorite
konsonant/ tracks and download the music directly to your local hard
drive.
| How do I edit my playlist? |
Once you are viewing a specific playlist you
can:
 - This immediately makes a copy of
the playlist and puts it in your [my playlists] page.
 - This allows you to change the name
of the playlist, and add or change your own description of the playlist.
 - This allows you to delete a playlist.
 - This allows you to share the playlist with other registered users.
 - This will allow you to print the playlist in a printer
friendly format.
| How do I share my playlist? |
You can share your playlist with other registered
users by clicking on the “share” button. Type in the recipient’s
registered email address and hit send. This can be very useful if you
need someone to listen to your playlist, or add or change the playlist
from another location.
| How do I download konsonant/ music? |
Once you have registered an account you will
be able to download music immediately and effortlessly to your local
hard drive. All of our tracks can be downloaded as either mp3s or master
quality aifs. Tracks can only be downloaded individually (no batch
downloads). However, our server can download multiple streams simultaneously.
So, if your browser is set up to allow multiple download streams, you
should have no problem getting our music.
If you need to receive the entire catalog on a hard drive, please
contact us and we would be happy to discuss details with you.
Please note that when you download music
your computer may add an "_" or "%20" in the
spaces between the words of the title of the track. To remedy this,
we suggest that you store and/or manage your downloads in iTunes.
iTunes will restore the title as it appears on our site.
| How can I submit my music to konsonant/? |
We are committed to providing our clients
with unique and high quality music. Out of respect for our clients,
we do not accept just any track that comes our way. konsonant/ is about
high production values, integrity and reliability.
If you are an artist or band looking to have
your music placed in all media and feel it would complement konsonant/,
please let us know. If we feel that your music is a good match for
our library, we will contact you regarding the next step. We are confident
that you will find the terms of our deal to be consistent with industry
standards, if not better.
| What operating systems and browsers do you recommend for best use of the site? |
This site has been optimized for use on Mac and PCs. For Mac, we recommend Firefox (v2) and Safari (v2). For PC, we recommend Firefox (v2) and Internet Explorer (v6 or 7).
